- Documents - 645.47 GB
- iCloud Drive - 202.35 GB
- iTunes - 0.9931 GB
- Music Creation - 2.28 GB
- Photos - 18.37 GB
- Trash - 98.59 GB
- Available - 124.5 GB.
Does Apple correctly add up storages sizes? Let's see. All of that added together is 1091.66 GB. Maybe some of the iCloud Drive files aren't directly saved on my hard drive.
When I break down the 645.47 GB of Documents portion of my hard drive, here is what's on it -
- Dropbox - 356.39 GB
- Movies - 281.52 GB
- Pictures - 63.59 GB
- Music - 2.12 GB
- Google Drive - 1.57 GB
- Downloads - 1.57 GB
Total - 706.76 GB, so again, some of it must be saved on iCloud.
The big culprits here are Dropbox and Movies. My plan is to not sync big files to my iMac anymore, and to transfer movies I've made to an external hard drive.
Hopefully this makes my iMac run faster. I got my iMac in early 2015, and I should be able to use it regularly for another 3 years.
Signed,
Mitch
