When I was a kid, we would always play dominoes at my grandparents' house. It's one of my favorite memories. I'd play with my grandpa, grandma, uncle, dad, and older brother. I feel like we'd play for at least an hour and I remember just having so much fun. Everyone was invested in the game, and this was well before people had smartphones to distract them from the game. Being surrounded by family playing a game was great.

Yesterday was Christmas, and I wanted to recreate these feelings when playing dominoes. I played with my dad and younger brother. There wasn't much investment from either of them, but they still played. It wasn't much fun, and I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed because my younger brother won't have good memories of playing games with family. I also realized it was less about the actual game, and it was more about who I was spending time with.

I encourage you to spend time with people that you enjoy being around. I guess it doesn't really matter what you're doing, just put your phones away and spend time with people.
