I recently read an essay by one of the Minimalists about TV - http://www.theminimalists.com/tv/. I don't plan on frequently writing my opposing thoughts to posts, but sometimes it is OK to disagree. I'm not saying this stance on TV is wrong, I just have a different stance on it. I agree with a lot of the points made in the essay, but it isn't going to change my stance on owning a TV.

I just don't think saying "I don't own a TV" has as much of an impact as it might have 10 years ago. I think it's OK to have a TV. It's good to watch your local news station and catch up local activities. It's nice to check the weather channel and have the local news stations for severe weather. I don't own a huge TV. In fact, I love my little TV. I've had it for over 4 years now and it's been great. It's easy to transport and doesn't take up a lot of space. My TV hasn't been a money sink and for the past year and a half I've barely paid more than the cost of electricity to run it.

Side Note - Tonight was the first night of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. I plan on watching this regularly as I regularly watched the Late Show with David Letterman.
